POPULAR STRAINS DO NOT REALLY RING MY BELL

I hope I am not carping or harping on this subject: The subjective evaluation of Marijuana. 

Is everybody really different or are there a few groups of preferences shared by a majority of marijuana consumers. Analysis is necessary for contaminant screening. Many people can successfully read turpene profiles and thc, cbd, cbn percentages and select a desired variety. 

The determinate commercial factor is what sells fastest and for the most money.

I have heard a number of opinions about what was good and on analysis research I found some low thc percentages. I myself smoked joints and had hash from unimpressive analysis strains. Some hard core strong pot smokers are most satisfied by strains which are not Analysis Queens nor extremely popular.

I had a similar experience as I evaluated four strains last week. The fourth was a familiar usual strain I vaporized a lot of, I have made concentrate and hash from and I occasionally smoke a joint of.  

The Lemon Lamb's Breath I smoked was strong, did not choke me or taste bad and it provided a clearly visible audible perceptible high. I also did not feel stiff and aching as much as I had before smoking the Lemon Lamb's Breath.

I am not sure if the UK Cheese was supposed to be strong, I ask let me evaluate your strongest Marijuana but possibly the taste was supposed to be great and unique, (mmm m i wonder) In any case, I found that the UK Cheese was not strong enough for my needs or taste. I found myself looking around in the shadows and out among the trees for a towering high, OK I admit it: Love those Towering Highs. You must know completely absorbed  in what was at hand. 

The towering feeling of total support of my body, floating as I lay down to sleep, relaxing and experiencing release breaths. Not with the Lemon Lamb`s Breath nor the UK Cheese and not with the highly recommended ``Freak out on one toke`` Wedding Cake. 

THE UNSETTLING PART FOR ME WITH THE UK Cheese and Wedding Cake was that I was aching and stiff still and I became quite wasted, tired out and dragging my-self around. This might be considered ``strong.``

Worse is the situation I have often experienced on trying a new variety. I get really shaky and sometimes even tremble. I was happy on day four to roll up a familiar strain joint to compare with the three new varieties and relieved as I quickly loosened up and saw psychedelic and was high.

I did not have to look into the shadows or among the trees to see that I was stoned. I will try to visually recreate the mood and the view and the smooth relaxation.

I do wonder why the varieties which affected me negatively are very popûlar. 

Postscript: I rolled a joint of a newly harvested new strain of unknown origin and it was better than my regular standby marijuana. I will see, I will have to smoke some when it is really ready or will my enthusiasm be only the new of the strain, I am usually not like this, new strain and really high.

I have been getting a bit of information about the new fasces and legislator derived plan to take over the Marijuana Patch. Classic Fascism is being followed in word and deed by Fascist Government Agencies and the Fascist  Industrial Complex being created to enrich the Investor Class and Police are involved who look more like the Military than the soldiers of World War Two.

Why do I throw around terms  like Fascism and Sedition? I actually went to University and took real courses from real professors and it is ABSOLUTE AND UNEQUIVOCAL as to what and whom and to what is Fascism and what is Sedition.

Inexpensive Cloning Start

 EVERY HOUSEHOLD IN CANADA IS PERMITTED TO GROW FOUR MARIJUANA PLANTS WHY DON'T YOU DO IT TOO 

Four plants are permitted in most of Canada and the first stage of getting growing can be done on a closet shelf.  I cut some drain holes in small yogurt containers and filled them with the very common Pro Mix HP which whomever you get your clones from probably has a bag of that or a similar product. When you decide to grow on, $30 to $40 buys a 3.8 cubic foot bale, it`s big.

This is alike to a closet bottom cloning station. A rod LED fixture can be used or possibly better a Sunblaster type florescent or any grow light or LED or florescent will probably work well. Bottom heat is good. An old heating pad on low and spaced will work, I had one, light bulb in a tin underneath the shelf also.

Bugs are bad news. They can persist where you grow forever. Check the plants you are getting clones from and/or the clones. Look for bugs. Watch out for scars or fungus or leaf curl. A magnifying glass, microscope or enlarged cell phone picture will help. 

   Most growers will have something like this Stim-Root //2. A surgical blade purchasable individually at medical supply and some drug stores can be glued into a slot in a used up pen`s plastic tube or some exacto type handles work well. Cut clones through a newly emerging leaf crotch. Water them in and spray with water. I use an old ketchup bottle which I squeeze creating a spray with a finger. The plastic ketchup bottle works well to water also. Count to apply an even amount, 123 123 123 . Lighting above is a sunblaster florescent tube.

This can be a very cheap part of a four clone grow and is the right size for a four clone grow and it is free in that it is a poly carbonate Salad Greens container. The lid makes a fine tight fitting bottom tray. V shaped cuts in upper corners create a closeable vents to open after 4 or 5 days.  The light is close above the dome. Once roots appear at the bottom of the cups it is time to transplant into larger containers and get some mild fertilizer to them.

GROWING FOUR CLONES IS GOOD PRACTICE AND GETS YOU READY WITH A FOUR OR MORE WEEK JUMP ON STARTING FROM SCRATCH LATER WITH CLONES OR SEEDS. IF YOU DECIDE NOT TO GROW PROBABLY A FRIEND WOULD LIKE YOUR PLANTS. THE CLONING PRODUCTION CAN BE DISCRETELY HIDDEN IN A CLOSET OR SIMILAR SPACE.

Eventually a grow would require a Metal Halide, a 1000 watt for various reasons, but new lower wattage just as effective bulbs are going to be available soon. There are probably lots of used 1K MH and HPS cheap or maybe free from a friend. There are new better lamps coming I am told.  

I grew my first plants for personal use in a sunroom in the house with fine results though at the end I bought a light rig. Budding is best with HPS, high pressure sodium, lamps but a Metal Halide can do it too. Old yellow light street lights and yard lights are HPS, might be disused these days.                                                            

Marijuana Mathematical Musings

The amount of rosin, squeeze or honey oil produced per gram from a type and crop of Marijuana is an important factor in the evaluation of quality. 

 HOWEVER WHAT ABOUT THIS CRYPTIC BIT OF MATHEMATICS?

1 gram of marijuana at the normal for quality marijuana 16 % THC would have 160 milligrams of THC in that gram of marijuana.

Regardless of the amount of squeeze, squish , rosin, live resin or honey oil produced from that gram, there is only 160 milligrams of THC available and that only with a 100% extraction. Most of the puck left after a successful extraction will not be psychoactive if smoked, sometimes edges have squeezed rosin on them. Assuming a 90% extraction is accomplished there would be 144 milligrams of THC in the squeeze, squish or honey oils per gram of rosin etc.

Extraction of very high yielding marijuana could produce .288 gm. of rosin, honey oil etc.   .288 gm with 144 mg or .144 gm THC results in a 50% THC content in the rosin, squeeze, squish, live resin or honey oil .  50 %THC

Extraction of a lesser yielding marijuana with the same analysis OF 16 %  THC produces say .216 gm rosin or honey oil etc with . 144 gm THC = 75% THC.

That was the math the musing is what do you want 50% or 75%

Is it possible the rest of the larger yielding marijuana is turpenes which could make it as valuable per gram of rosin etc as the lower yielding marijuana?

If analysis does not show the presence of more and valuable turpenes in the high yielding marijuana, then the lesser yielding marijuana might produce a stronger and superior product.

Finally it is possible that subjective testing by experienced persons might be the only way to judge what the better or best product is. Analysis is also always necessary to provide more information and protection from contamination. 

DO NOT FORGET THAT THE HIGH YIELDING MARIJUANA PRODUCES 30%+ MORE OF THE SQUEEZE, SQUISH, ROSIN, LIVE RESIN OR HONEY OIL THAN THE LESSER YIELDING MARIJUANA.

I GREW TWO MARIJUANA PLANTS FOR MY USE IN 1984 AND I WAS FORCED TO SELL THAT MARIJUANA AND PAY FOR MY EX-WIFE'S BUSINESS AND THE INTEREST DEMANDS ON A FORCED LOAN NOT TO MY BENEFIT BY MY BROTHER ANDREW COLLARD AND MY MOTHER ISABEL COLLARD. I WAS ONE OF THE FIRST SUPPLIERS TO MEN WITH THE "WASTING DISEASE" AS HIV WAS KNOWN THEN. I GOT TO SMOKE A BIT OF MY MARIJUANA BUT I GOT NO MORE AFTER I HAD TO SELL IT. THE LOOMING SHADOW OF AUTHORITY

LEGALISATION OF RECREATIONAL REGULATED MARIJUANA IS ONLY ONE DAY AWAY. THE HANDS OF AUTHORITY ARE REACHING OUT WITH RULES AND RESTRICTIONS AND THE HANDS OF INDUSTRY AND STOCK PROMOTERS REACH OUT FOR MONEY.

I think: How much are the poor smokers going to have to pay all those greedy hands for what?

I feel the choking hands vicariously. I empathise with people who will have to fear smoking at home. I think about the many dispensary supplier growers and what will happen to their ability to pay mortgages or rent and Hydro bills and they do not know when their product will be supplanted by the giant industrial growers. Half of dispensary staff will have to be laid off as prepackaged product replaces the View, Smell and See and weigh it out before or at the time of purchase. 

Condominium boards and Landlords will rule about smoking Marijuana in Suites. If  joints or  the hash I like stinks, and smoking is conducted in a building or on a balcony then other residents will be able to complain and smoking cannot proceed . Vaporizers should be able to be almost odorless and they might be the answer to multi-dwelling accommodations. I would think that smoking buildings, hopefully with social smoking lounges, will develop. I certainly have not ever been bothered as I smelled someone lighting up Marijuana or Hashish. I am curious, what is that?

I do not know if you realize that Marijuana Growers were very fearful at times in the past as accusations of being organized crime and spreading mold and hiding exaggerated earnings  from the tax man and the urging on of the public to inform terrorized them. Get busted and have everything seized including the children. One grower said to me " It cost me $80,000. when I was busted several times." This prospect to many persons would be terrifying and insurmountable. 

BY-LAW OFFICERS WERE USED TO GET POLICE ON TO PRIVATE PROPERTY WITHOUT A WARRANT TO FIND OR SMELL SOMETHING.

I READ IN THE NEWSPAPER HERE IN SOOKE BC AN ARTICLE THAT ENCOURAGED THE CALLING OF BY-LAW AND POLICE NEEDLESSLY.  I THINK THAT IT BECAME A GAME OR A POWER TRIP  TO SEND POLICE OR BY-LAW OFFICERS WITH A POLICE ESCORT ON BOGUS RAIDS HOPING TO GET SOME SORT OF BUST GOING. 

I WAS SUBJECTED TO NUMEROUS INSTANCES OF THIS SWATTING OR WHATEVER. I WAS NOT BUSTED FOR ANYTHING BUT I SURELY WAS TERRORIZED AND I HAVE COLLAPSED MANY TIMES. 

NOW THE DISPENSARIES, THE OWNERS AND STAFF ARE TO BE TARGETS FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT AND FINES AND IMPRISONMENT. I WONDER HOW THEY WILL FEEL ABOUT A FAKE 911 CALL OR BY-LAW COMPLAINT FABRICATION OR SOMEONE SAYING THEY HATED POLICE OR WOMEN?

I did not believe analysis were  accurate in some of my original posts on Marijuana Critic. Now that numerous analysis were conducted by many labs and there is a historical record, I have to credit the dispensaries and labs who did thorough analysis with a job well done protecting customers and allowing them to compare and select with precision. Not only by names, but through studying analysis. 

I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT ANALYSIS WAS NOT AS COMMON AS I THOUGHT IT WAS AND THAT IT WAS NOT REGARDED AS IMPORTANT.     ANALYSIS TO DETECT CONTAMINANTS IS IMPORTANT.

The independent grower and Dispensary system of Marijuana production is coming to an end next week. If it ran as I think it did, low prices were paid to growers and the responsibility for dealing with government fell on to the Dispensaries.  Store expenses and employee costs were deducted and the margin was taxed including product cost. Similarly if you work for an established business, all of the deductions for costs and even taxes are held by the business, the workers get the residual earnings. Growers also bore many expenses which would be deductible from their earnings. Payment as low as two dollars a gram is common, three is doing really well and there are those growers who do get four or five dollars per gram. Growers provide a facility, pay for power, supplies and labor or do the labor. Dispensaries sell for five to fourteen dollars per gram. That margin exceeds grower margin and labor pay by an astronomical amount. 

Dispensary customers sometimes paid a lot for their Marijuana, but the level of service at some Dispensaries and the choices and quality will possibly not be achieved for a long time under the new system and they may have to pay just as much or more.

                                                                          

Third party analysis through a sample picked out of a pound    or half pound bag by the dispensary is the best process and protection for the consumer. Any other methodology will not be as effective as the Producer's honesty will be required

Asylum Racers from 1969

All post 1974 Asylum Racers had a Sterling Silver Bowl or a Gold Bowl. All were plated with silver as silverware would be or 24karat gold in the case of solid gold bowled ``The Diplomat``. All bowls through the fire and some of the inhalers as well. Dozens of Gold Silver and Jeweled Asylum Racer S were destroyed. At AMJ we made commercial gold and silver jewellery. Asylum Racer

Barrels and Bowls had dragons crawling on them and hands of Katima  or whatever you could imagine manufactured and functional for fifty years use or more. Multiple chillum bowl styles. The Anthony Bowl was available but few were made. The 1976 Asylum Racer "S" pictures with Vaporizer has the Anthony Bowl, the original to mold bowl was hand made from Silver Plate by English Silversmith Anthony LLoyd- Roberts or something close. Most Asylum Racer "S" bowls were originated as Cire Perdu Wax Process models, molded and cast at Advanced Method Jewellery Manufacturing by myself.

The best copper tubing, a 100% pure copper
product extruded in Canada was freshly made
tubing which has the greatest flexibility and malleability. The original pipes, many designs were tried including pressurized water pipes where the water and smoke would rush into a clear glass viewing chamber excitingly.
I used electric coils in the early 1970's which actually vaporized marijuana and hash if it was mixed in, but it was thought that the marijuana was not consumed. A white ash was sought. I
am not sure how closely I missed Vaporization.

I used to travel four blocks to Dominion Glass in downtown Vancouver British Columbia in the 1970's and buy the egg cups by the case of 144 for 18 cents each. Some years back the egg cup casting had deteriorated, no longer round they did not work.
Other bottoms had to be used.

When we arrived on the highway between Colony Farm for the Criminally Insane and Essondale Mental Hospital we opened throttles and went as fast as  we possibly could. The Asylum Racer S resembles engine and pipes on a Norton Commando S and was gas flowed as much as was possible by trial and error.
