Dark Madness, lurking in your marijuana: CBC Marketplace

Smoking Marijuana is fun. As a previous generation had sipped their champagne cocktails and toured the gardens or played Croquette, we smoked marijuana and enjoyed our experiences.

The preoccupation with driving after smoking marijuana was not an issue for decades. The idea that strong marijuana is bad is unusual to me, there is an opportunity to smoke less with strength.

Today's marijuana is not stronger than the Thai Sticks and Lebanese Hash of the seventies and early eighties which I enjoyed in Vancouver BC. I make my own hashish, as in earlier post, one breath is enough, stronger than any pot.

Have some marijuana and pick up a suitable musical instrument, do it with friends. Have professional musician friends or get good and really have fun.

I smoke a joint of BC grown Pigmy at London England and go look for the biggest Night Club I can find and tell the band, "Hi, I am Lindon Collard the worlds greatest harmonica player and I will prove this now with your band if you are willing to have me sit in."  Pow! that is fun.

I used to go to Vancouver, particularly when  My Aunt Annette was in Mexico, work, go to bed at 9 pm and get up at 2am and head out to play in after hours clubs, a little earlier and I could join bands for their last set. Play harmonica to any tune without rehearsal without knowing some out of town band or from Vancouver but we did not know each other. The greatest fun while high on pot.

I smoked up and played again and again with bands, with recorded music, at writing sessions, til I could float out onto any stage and wail with the band. Not everyone would use music, what about animation and video production, or writing or jewellery making and designing. I have factually and actually done all of the above and more as I enjoyed Marijuana more than by sitting there. Politics can be interesting to follow on pot. Political discussion is hilarious or saddening or frightening.

When we first smoked, a bunch of motorcycle enthusiasts, we played bridge and went skating. Try some new, safe activities, have some fun not a bout of anxiety or depression as the naysayers do.

I and many psychiatrists think that Marijuana can aid a person through relaxation and fun.  All the Dark Imaginings inconclusive,  not ;  inconclusive means that there is no evidence of any change or effect. Hysterical Anecdotes are the personal experience of a few people, most people have fun with pot.

Bad Hash

                                          BAD  HASH

HASHISH PRODUCERS ARE SCRAPING THE BOTTOM OF THE BARREL TOO HARD!  Hash smells good, hash tastes good, hash feels good in your head, your throat, and fills the lungs full as to burst without feeling choked, without any bad aftertaste, oil slick  or heavy lung effects.  If the product being used as hash does not meet all of these standards, that is not hash.                   ( In the past there was erzatz hash which was horrible, there was weak hash which was sorely disappointing , but there was a lot of good hash in Vancouver BC through the late 60's, 70;s, 80's).

Contemporaneously, I have viewed samples of - black all through-, nearly black all through- and -grainy cannabis composite- hashish like products of which I am extremely suspicious.

The use of solvent or extraction process oils or concentrates does not necessarily create an automatic exclusion. There are products overtly and properly created combining concentrates, hashish powder and bud.        The, might I call it surrepticious,  creation of a hash like compound with the same products is not necessarily improper or undesirable, but it is possibly difficult to elegantly accomplish. Again: smell good, taste good, feel good are absolutely necessary.

The problem hash is created by trying to get too much out of nothing good.        Working the hell out of product which contains very few glans heads results in the inclusion of a whole lot of undesirable content contaminating the hash which should exclusively be composed of  little silver balls from stalked glans heads.

Mechanical trimming devices create smashed glans heads which have to be processed differently from the screened intact glans heads, it is possible that quickly processing "spin" is required.

When too much of just plain dust and debris are processed into hash an undesirable product might be produced. I cleaned up the box which housed a rotary screening device which had produced excellent hashish. I screened what seemed to be all the same hash powder as there was on the parchment paper where the machine had deposited its produce. I scraped up "hash powder", placed it on the hash bowl 80 micron screen, I processed it through the screen, collected what seemed to be the usual stuff and pressed it into hash which looked perfect, resinous and gold!

Oh Oh the "hash" I collected and pressed did not smell good.   OK, I will try it anyway- Oh Oh it tasted terrible, it damaged my throat , I had the wrong "lung" feeling, I felt no real high.   All it takes is too much dust and debris and not enough proper stalked glans heads to produce BAD HASH. Can you just imagine what really scraping and extracting from by-products and leaves and spin can produce in the way of  BAD HASH>>>

Marijuana Critic Canada May 10, 2017

MARIJUANA  CRITIC  CANADA  MAY 10, 2017

SOME INTERESTING POSITIONS ARE BEING ADOPTED WHICH I WOULD THINK      VIOLATE  CHARTER RIGHTS.  JUST BECAUSE "IT IS A REGULATED SUBSTANCE"?

It is very important to challenge the right of government officials to do whatever they want to constrict and prohibit  an important part of British Columbia and Canadian citizens rights to do what they want to do under the umbrella of a  "quiet enjoyment of their property".  Because we the citizens pay for and authorize and must approve of the actions of the government we are getting, we the citizens are entitled to get what we want not what those who influence elected officials and appointed authorities want.   Maxwell's Rules of Interpretation of Statutes states that "no man should be forced to accept rule that a reasonable man would not agree to". There are more statements in this tome that outline how government officials may interpret and act on law and most important prohibitions upon establishing regulation and subjecting citizens to arrest and criminal prosecution where no "egregious harm to persons or property is created". Reasonably and with proper consideration, I disagree with the entirety of the  premise that " we do not know what dangers or harm could result so criminalize and crush citizens."

To me, the concept of  "preventative criminalization" is irrational and barbaric.

The economic principles which I believe enable businesses to function and expand require that small, often individually operated or family businesses test the market and prepare owners and employees to operate their businesses successfully or learn that their product or process is not economically viable, losing their own efforts and money as well. When shareholders are mistakenly or deliberately lured to invest in an economically flawed enterprise the damage can run to a lot more than lost labor and one family or person's economic ruin. The solo or family business can break even or supply a family income perhaps even in a situation where it can be discerned that the enterprise could not be expanded Do not use regulation morphed into criminal prosecution to overrule Economic Principle! The Soviet Union or worse, Communist East Germany ran their economies just like that!!!

I have been informed that the British Columbia New Democratic Party is planning to remove the existing system of Marijuana Dispensaries and Artisan Growers and Farmers in favor of a BC Government Liquor Store based retailing. Would Artisan Growers be permitted as the Craft Beer Artisan Brewers are to retail through the LCB? Would the associates of and contributors to our politicians and authorities be granted freedom to grow and sell and the Police enforce exclusion?

I am hearing from dispensary owners that they would object to being excluded from the market.    I have  also been told that "They are not taking applications anymore." For what I do not know but it bothers me that a gate is being closed behind a chosen few or fortunate few or willing to break the alleged ironclad marijuana sales laws brave few, certainly in the past, now who knows?

The Farmer who owns agricultural land in multiple parcels is generally entitled to farm some on a piece of property  in the ALR an bring his produce from his other farms to that sales location property, you have all seen Roadside Farmstands. I believe one of Farmer's locations is near a liquor store but no schools or community centers and why cannot he grow and sell marijuana just like potatoes or kale? Why is the line drawn behind the existing dispensaries, Grocery Stores are not protected from competition by exclusion through fear of criminal prosecution without any egregious harm being done. This is agriculture he says, for Gods sake my land is in the ALR tied right up and nothing to be able to do but grow agricultural products and what because it is a comfort and a backstop protection for dispensaries now and city folks from the stock markets and shareholders later I am going to be excluded and I am now excluded. I got the land the hy-way   for customer traffic but I cannot be allowed to build a farmstand, got most of the one from the fifties still. I want to grow and sell my agricultural product but the police let some sell and some not.

The Farmer says that he could use his money to sue over charter rights instead of growing and building the Farmstand . I wonder how many ALR farmer owners would like to get in on a class action suit. All you farmers are richer than you think, farmland values up 40% to 76% . Why should this agricultural product which is our right, our only right in the ALR, to grow agricultural products. Why give all the money to city slickers, farmers say they could do it way cheaper too.

Marijuana Critic On Critics       April 25 , 2017.

I think that there is wide ranging  complexity to strain effect variation.  The variation of effect from hashish, bho, or squeeze is also complex.

Ratings and opinions are drawn from the experience which results as staff and customers consume cannabis products and decide what products work for them, how they were affected and to what degree.  If there is a consensus of opinion   it would be easy to rate the value of products and predict the effect of their use . If opinions are wide ranging or inconsistent the selection process is more difficult.

It is possible that some people just do not know except what they have been told, or some people  develop  opinion  drawn from being contrary.   Do over-riding beliefs create predispositions which overrule accurate judgement? It is possible that no one would act against their self interest when testing marijuana products for personal use or for the purchase of products by marijuana processors or retailers. The factor which makes me wary of limited sample size opinion or propagandized or contrarian opinion is my experience of how many persons judge musical and artistic creations. The intrinsically individual and hard to discern experiential characteristics of marijuana product use are difficult to qualify and quantify. It is not as difficult to discern when live musical or artistic performances can be listened to, and viewed. The motions made by the performers lips , fingers and bodies show us how the performance is being created and how in touch with the creation the performers are. Still it seems to me that people can exercise very poor judgement based on irrational beliefs about artistic and musical performance.  How do we know who knows what about marijuana for sure?

Marijuana Legalization Critic Canada :Not What I Expected:

I got the call to watch the proposed Marijuana Legalization Canada April 13, 2017.

This is not a technical response or analysis but it is my emotional and intellectual reaction to the proposal.

I had expected a joyous celebration. I wrote a song several decades ago called  "Legalization Day". I will try to post the video. "...Flags were flying, the bands were playing..Legalization Day", freedom from lurking authority: possess,  have a smoke or vape without worry or threat of being scooped up out of one's home.

I turned on the video which I recorded of the live press conference of Canadian Marijuana Quintunal of Marijuana Contemptoristas . I began to view the former Police Chief of Toronto, far from the joyous herald of Legalization was he, pinch faced, angry , spouting the doctrine of increased deterrence and enhanced penalties and danger in every corner caused by marijuana use, carnage on the road, the luring of youth to bad, yeah bad, brain damage too. And gangsters as well ,born of the greed and huge illicit profits and hate them. Criminals grow marijuana he said. People grow marijuana . Regulation has been turned into a vicious response against plant growing and using people for 80 years and Bill would have this absurdity continue.

I have the recurring thought of the terror a teen aged pot dealer who hears of the lip smacking pronunciation made by Police Freako Blair must feel at the threat of 14 years in jail for selling to his friends, of course not a 12 or 17 year old . Sure, trust your fate ,expect a break, BB was just spouting his favourite phrases live again on TV: "new and stronger laws to punish more severely" and  I was sure he uttered "enhanced penalties" tho I cannot find it now. Quake in fear and loathing kiddo, a similar control freak is waiting in jail when Bill and the gang punish you. I made an error, there are six in the gang a Sextunal of unsuitable Legalizationists.  View:Capricious Justice.blogspot .com for more about the continuing war on Marijuana and people in 2017! WHAT IS IN A NAME?

Since I last posted on Marijuana Critic I have experienced a part of the emerging Marijuana Culture, guidance by "Leafly". This may be ok, in particular where the Marijuana Strains as named were represented locally as named and the characteristics are probably accurate in those localities.  In addition there is a tendency among some growers and producers to simply use a cool sounding name they have encountered. Leafly is a creation of an investor group heading by Peter Theil who may be part of an investor group that desires control over as much of the Marijuana Market as possible. I believe that Theil`s group owns an interest in at least one Production Facility, right here on Vancouver Island.

I have commented on Sativa vs Indica. Its not that the two major genetic variations in cannabis are opposed to each other, they are different from one another but I do not think that the distinction is as clear as many marijuana evaluators portray.  The common wisdom is that tall gangly narrow leaved plants are Sativa and short squat plants are Indica.  I think that I have experienced tall and short and mentally stimulating and bodily sedating effects from all sorts of different sizes of plants.

The Indica strain is primarily modified through the turpene Limonelle and Sativa has the main modifying turpene Linacool. I have thought that the lemony tasting Kush type strains were Indica and that the sweet Thai or lightly lavender through hash taste was the taste of Sativa. The resulting high or medical effect seemed to be indicated by the smell and taste of Indica or Sativa and not the name or the shape of a plant.

I find that the finest Marijuana and Hashish has the initial effect of sedation or being laid back or awestruck and then rising feeling of energy creativity direction and concentration. This dual effect is a characteristic of the only Marijuana or Hashish that I personally like or think is really valuable. The alleged Indica body stone and Sativa head stone are overturned by the incredible intellectual and creative effect of some Afghan Indica.

I am becoming more and more convinced that much of the genealogy behind today's Indicas is dependent upon the OG18 Kush cancer pain relief Marijuana breed at Vancouver British Columbia for medical purposes.

Some breeders were seeking the highest possible high and they breed using North American Indica and Th
ai and some of those special Afghan Strains.  It is possible that this is the source of the creative intellectual high called Sativa.
